Children wake up early in the morning and open their presents. We are ten years old and we know that it is our parents who buy the presents, but… it is still exciting to wait for Saint Lucy! And you? Do you have a similar tradition? Please tell us all about it.

THE BEFANA When do we celebrate Befana day?
On the 6th of January during Christmas time.
Who is Befana?
She is an ugly and old woman. She has got a big and long nose. She wears long skirt with patches and shoes with holes. What do the children do on Befana's day? The day before Befana's day the children hang a sock near the window. During the night Befana arrives by a broom, she leaves some sweets and little present for the children in the socks.
We know a Befana's chant:
"La Befana vien di notte
con le scarpe tutte rotte
con le toppe alla sottana
viva viva la Befana".
On 6th of January we also celebrate three wise men (re Magi) who bring presents for Jesus.
